Jimmy Wanjigi Reconciles with Raila at a Fundraiser In Bondo

The Kenyanpost news

ODM leader Raila Odinga and businessman Jimmy Wanjigi on Sunday  attended a fundraiser in Bondo town, Siaya County.

Raila had been accompanied by several political leaders  and MPs among them from Luo Nyanza.

Also in attendance were Kirinyaga Senator Charles Kibiru and former Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycap Igathe  also present at the fundraiser.

The leaders have came together to raise funds for the completion of a Sh160 million Bondo Anglican Church Synod Plaza. This is after a scathing attack from Tangatanga allied Leaders who constantly accuse Raila of being mean and also the Hustler narrative that has been the town talk.

According to the Bishop for Bondo Diocese Prof David Kodia, once completed, it would among other things form part of the proceeds that will enable the diocese to support the needy and vulnerable in the society.

"The proceeds will also enable institutional sustainability which will in turn strengthen the mission work and evangelism in the Diocese," said Prof Kodia.

This comes barely a day after police in Mumias, Kakamega County blocked two church functions that Deputy President William Ruto was to attend today over insecurity.

Shianda police boss Christopher Wesonga, said police declined to permit the events citing Covid-19 and security threats.

In a letter to the chairman of the steering committee of St Leo Catholic Church, Shianda, the OCS said no mass involving all 10 sub-parishes under Bumini will take place.

Ruto and his Tanga Tanga brigade were to preside over fundraisers at  Matungu and Bumini parish in Mumias East.

All this comes in a wake of measures put in place by the government to prevent clashes in political rallies like the one witnessed in Muranga.
